Our store offers a wide selection of rods, reels, tackle, bait, and outdoor gear, supported by knowledgeable staff who share a passion for fishing and exceptional customer service.Position SummaryThe Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, driving sales performance, managing inventory, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on customer engagement and requires a strong knowledge of fishing equipment, techniques, and local fisheries.Key ResponsibilitiesStore OperationsAssist with the day-to-day management of store operations.Open and close the store according to company procedures.Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and fully stocked.Maintain visual merchandising standards and promotional displays.Assign daily tasks to employees when the Store Manager is not present.Communicate regularly to headquartersSupport loss prevention and store security initiatives.Cleaning and shop upkeepInventory store products as well as ensuring new product and replenishments of product are stocked in the store from headquarters.Confident asking questions you don’t know the answer to.Confident reporting employee issues to upper managementCustomer Service & SalesProvide expert product recommendations for freshwater and saltwater fishing.Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business.Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.Assist in achieving sales goals and key performance metrics.Promote seasonal sales and special events.Team LeadershipSupervise and support retail associates during assigned shifts.Assist with employee training and onboarding.Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.Provide coaching and performance feedback as needed.Lead by example through professionalism and customer-focused service.Inventory ManagementReceive, stock, and organize merchandise shipments.Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.Assist with inventory audits.Ensure accurate pricing and product labeling.Qualifications2+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Must posses’ basic math skills and the ability to make change $$Knowledge of fishing tackle, equipment, and techniques strongly preferred.Strong customer service and sales skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.Preferred QualificationsExperience in outdoor, sporting goods, or fishing retail environments.Experience with managing employees/peopleFamiliarity with local fishing regulations and seasonal fishing trends.Experience with inventory management systems.Passion for fishing and outdoor recreation.Compensation & BenefitsHourly position.Employee discounts on fishing and outdoor merchandise.Paid time off .Health, dental, and vision benefitsPay Range: $20–$22 per hour2+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Must posses’ basic math skills and the ability to make change $$Knowledge of fishing tackle, equipment, and techniques strongly preferred.Strong customer service and sales skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended period
