Position Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations and serves as manager-on-duty during assigned shifts, including opening and closing the store.
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing duties
- Supervise team members during assigned shifts
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Receive and store deliveries; maintain stockroom organization
- Complete prep and cleaning duties
- Assist customers and resolve service issues
- Communicate shift updates to the Store Manager
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willingness to obtain Illinois Food Handler certification (company paid)
- Willingness to obtain Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification (company paid)
- Morning, evening, and weekend availability required
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for the duration of a shift
- Strong Customer Service, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
- Effective Communication abilities for interacting with customers, team members, and leadership.
- Store Management experience, including overseeing daily operations, staffing, and inventory.
- Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, and perform light physical tasks as needed.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, with reliability in punctuality and follow-through.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week
- Shifts include mornings, evenings, and weekends; schedules are set by the Store Manager
