Summary

The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, including establishing action plans to achieve store goals. The role requires knowledge of all product areas, adherence to company policies, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. The Assistant Manager will assume supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence and is trained in store manager responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and establishing action plans for sales, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility for the entire store when the Store Manager is absent.
• Participate in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet departmental responsibilities and standards.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure high‑quality customer service is maintained and provide excellent service during peak periods.
• Protect company assets and maintain internal controls, reporting potential fraud risks to management.
• Promote and sell company services and merchandise.
• Practice all company policies, procedures, and standards as outlined in relevant manuals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsible for interviewing, training, assigning, and directing work, as well as resolving problems in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self‑starter with initiative and strong attention to detail.
• Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales.

Compensation

Hourly: $15.15 – $15.15
