Role Description

The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Fort Wayne, IN. This role supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor. The Assistant Store Manager helps lead and coach sales associates, promotes consistent customer service practices, and addresses customer concerns to ensure a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities also include monitoring inventory, supporting retail loss prevention efforts, assisting with sales goals and performance tracking, and contributing to staffing, training, and scheduling decisions. The role requires active participation on the sales floor, modeling professional behavior and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

• Strong Communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and leadership.
• Store Management skills, including oversight of daily operations and team support.
• Retail Loss Prevention skills to help protect company assets and ensure store safety.
• Previous retail or supervisory experience, preferably in fashion or specialty retail.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Basic math and computer skills; comfort with point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or retail management is a plus.
