General Summary
We are seeking a driven individual who can build and develop a great customer service and sales‑oriented team while achieving retail sales targets. This person must be customer‑service driven, nurture a dynamic team where employees want to learn and grow, possess a sense of urgency to accomplish store goals, and work with the Store Manager to ensure customers and employees are thriving in a high‑performance, customer‑service culture.
Must be flexible in workdays and hours, including holidays, weekends, and various working shifts for 40 - 50 hours a week.
Customer Service
- Provide a positive representation of Timberline Ace Hardware.
- Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
- Greet customers upon entry and throughout the store, and thank them when they leave.
- Show a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates.
- Answer all pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively.
- Handle customer complaints that are escalated to a member of management.
- Maintain strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
- Assist customers throughout the store with personalized, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
Store Operations
- Responsible for opening and closing.
- Assist in creating a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
- Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
- Assist with maintaining back‑stock levels.
- Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of the sales floor, stockrooms, bathrooms, and outdoor merchandise area.
- Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
- Aid department specialists with price changes and special orders.
- Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
- Communicate merchandising, cost‑control, or sales ideas to the Store Manager or GM.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct yourself appropriately.
- Coach employees.
- Uphold Timberline standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Exceptional time‑management skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds and stand or walk for up to 10 hours during shifts as required.
- Excellent written and computer skills.
- Retail management experience highly encouraged.

Location
Asphalt, Colorado. This position requires travel. Timberline Ace has stores located in Telluride, Norwood, Clifton, Battlement Mesa, Carbondale, and Aspen and may require company‑paid travel for training and other company activities.
Salary
This is a salary position with a minimum 40‑hour work week. Any vacation and sick pay must be communicated and approved by the Store Manager.
