Assistant Project ManagerMercer Technical Services (MTS), a Quanta Services company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the execution of pipeline logistics, material management, and field services projects. This role assists Project Managers with planning, coordination, documentation, reporting, and project controls activities while gaining exposure to all aspects of project execution.The Assistant Project Manager serves as a key support resource for rail offload operations, yard management, pipe sorting and re-racking, stringing operations, and haul-to-right-of-way (ROW) logistics. This position offers a clear development path into a Project Manager role.ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers in the planning, execution, and closeout of logistics and field services projectsMaintain project documentation, daily reports, project files, and closeout packagesTrack production, inventory, material movement, and project performance metrics against project budgets and client requirementsDevelop and maintain project schedules, cost trackers, and reporting tools using Excel and other project management systemsAssist with project setup activities including purchase orders, cost coding, vendor coordination, and approval workflowsCoordinate with subcontractors, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), rail carriers, and field personnel to support project executionSupport invoicing, change order documentation, and project reporting requirementsParticipate in client meetings, project reviews, and operational planning discussionsIdentify project risks, schedule impacts, and operational challenges and communicate findings to project leadershipAbility to travel 10% of the timeQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered2+ years of experience in project coordination, logistics, construction, material management, or related project-based environmentsExperience supporting pipeline, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project documentation managementStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to coordinate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clientsUnderstanding of project scheduling, cost tracking, and project controls principlesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentBenefitsAs a Quanta Services employee, we offer a wide range of benefits to fit your needs.401(k) with immediate matching and vestingFully comprehensive benefits packages; Medical, Dental, VisionShort term and long term benefitsEmployee discounts on consumer goodsEqual Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
