Starting as a family business, RUSSCO is known for genuine customer service and cares about all people.The Assistant Project Manager/Jr. Estimator's responsibility is to support Project Managers & Estimators across the company in many capacities, including communicating effectively and efficiently, solicit and review subcontractor bids for multiple trades, assist in the preparation of detailed project estimates, communicate between office team and field team; this role is also required to provide and promote RUSSCO's interests in all matters relating to the project.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:To assist the Project Manager(s) in the development and refinement of the Project Schedule, and to work with the Project Manager(s) to keep the schedules properly updated, and to see that the job meets the various required dates.To plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager(s) including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment and manpower.Digitally organize plan files for updates/revisions once received by client, engineer, architect, etc.Communicate plan updates for current projects to appropriate team members (Project Manager, Superintendent, Subcontractors, etc.).Support Project Managers and office team in creating and submitting legal contracts to Sub-contractors.Solicit and review subcontractor bids for multiple trades (e.g., MEP, framing, finishes, millwork) to ensure complete and competitive pricingAssist in preparing detailed project estimates for retail, restaurant and other interior construction projectsPerform quantity takeoffs from architectural and MEP drawings using estimating software and plan setsMaintain and update subcontractor and vendor bid lists, ensuring coverage across all scopes of workAnalyze bid proposals for scope completeness, exclusions, and pricing accuracyCoordinate with subcontractors to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment with project requirementsAssist in assembling bid packages, including scope sheets, inclusions/exclusions, and qualificationsSupport value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving alternatives and substitutionsTrack and organize historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracyParticipate in bid reviews and internal estimate reconciliation meetingsProvide Sub-contractors necessary information regarding legal documentation required, communicating resources, etc.Technology implementation and support for field team including filtering iOS tech support and purchasing product through Apple Business.To maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project including the public.To examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager(s).RUSSCO is an equal opportunity employer.
