Project Management AssistantThis position requires assistance in managing the pre-construction, design, execution, and close-out of projects according to company objectives and goals. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the project team in engineering management, conceptual estimating, pricing change orders, multi-trade project scheduling, short-term scheduling, booking change orders in the internal cost analysis system, procurement of equipment, RFIs, submittals, managing field labor, field coordination, subcontractor management, material take off and interacting with the General Contractor and Owners project teams to successfully execute construction projects and to support the acquisition of additional work.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist the project team in managing internal and external engineering teams including multi-trade engineering coordination and shop drawing review.Estimating, budgeting, and written proposalsUnderstand contracts and contractual scopePlanning and scheduling including short-term interval scheduling of various craftsManage material, equipment, tools, information, and subcontractors on each jobMaterial, equipment, and subcontractor procurementCost control (internal accounting system, change orders, etc)Ensuring quality and performanceAssist the project team in communications with general contractors, architects, engineers, and ownersAssist in managing start-up, commissioning, and owner trainingAssist the project team in supporting field crewsSafety awareness, training, promotionWarranty administrationMarket and promote the entire companyUnderstand, practice, and promote all company values and operational proceduresMentorship and development of Co-opsBasic Qualifications Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering, engineering, technology, or building construction.Will accept an equivalent business management degree with a focus on construction or engineering and 1-2 years of project management experience overseeing technicians working with mechanical systems.If no degree, a minimum of 5+ years of internal experience working with plumbing, piping, or HVAC systems in the office or the field.Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong leadership skills, self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands.Respect from subordinates, peers, customers, and supervisorsWillingness to sacrifice short-term gain for long-term results and accomplishmentDetail orientedAbility to multi-taskStrong desire to provide excellent customer serviceHigh sense of urgencyHighly motivated to achieveHave a genuine passion for the company and the industryGood mechanical aptitudeMust be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independentlyAbility to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goalsMust be able to reason through and solve problemsAbility to maintain meticulous attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasksAble to demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlinesAbility to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidanceMust possess and maintain an exceptional work ethic, uphold company values, and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and othersProfessional and polished image that inspires confidence and trustAbility to read and understand drawings; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, civil, structuralPreferred RequirementsDemonstrated successful experience in the construction industry.Two years of experience managing mechanical workStrong Business Acumen (entrepreneurship counts)Knowledge of Account Management (managing multiple customers)Leadership exposure (conferences, training, etc.)Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
