Assistant Project EngineerJoin our growing team as an Assistant Project Engineer and assist the project team in the planning and execution of successful mass excavating and construction projects!This position is continuously open because we are always looking for talented Assistant Project Engineers in various locations and departments within our company.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssists in the preparation of work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts and supplier agreementsAttends preconstruction meetings, assisting in preparing a list of action items and proposed solutionsProvides support to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Contract Administrator in preparing job documents and materialsAnalyzes processes, assists with layout, construction sequencing, cost analysis, measures quantities, supporting field employees, clarifying specifications, as necessaryEnsure proper document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are kept in accordance with expectationsAssist in monitoring the project site, ensuring that the work is progressing on scheduleDevelops solid working relationships with all project personnelAny other responsibilities as assignedKnowledge & SkillsAble to read and comprehend contract documents and construction plansSolid general math skills with the ability to complete field calculationsMS Office experienceExcellent oral and written communicationsAccuracy and attention to detailAbility to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and employees at all levelsAbility to act in a safe manner alwaysHigh level of motivation, a'self-starter'EducationAssociate Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent field experience requiredBachelor's in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferredTravelOvernight travel and shift work may be assigned based on business needs.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
