Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Entomology or related life sciences discipline.
Position Summary: The Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position (9 months) in row crop integrated pest management (IPM) with emphasis on cotton at the Assistant Professor rank. The position is budgeted at 65% research, 30% Extension, and 5% service. Candidates with expertise in IPM and sustainable production of row crops are sought.
The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized research and extension program supported by competitive external funding, publish high-impact research, and mentor graduate/undergraduate students. A collaborative multidisciplinary approach to solving problems in the cotton industry is expected, along with multistate and international collaborations. Extension responsibilities include communicating with row crop producers and extension agents.
Anticipated start date: August 3, 2026.
Location: UGA- Tifton Campus, Tifton, Georgia.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
One to two years postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
A strong record of scholarly achievement and excellent communication skills.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Develop a nationally recognized research and extension program supported by competitive external funding.
- Publish high-impact research.
- Effectively mentor graduate/undergraduate students.
- Apply expertise in IPM theory and practice, including resistance management, applied toxicology, transgenic and molecular approaches, population genetics, landscape ecology, or precision agriculture (including remote sensing).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary approaches within the cotton industry, complementing current programs.
- Actively participate in departmental and university service, professional activities, and outreach.
