The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with competitive startup, salary, and benefit packages.
Position Overview
Candidates are expected to develop a vigorous and externally funded research program in semiconductor microelectronics (experimental), teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor student research, and provide service to the department, university, and community. Employees may also be required to conduct research on, work with, or have access to critical organizational infrastructure while maintaining its security and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in physics.
- Minimum one year of postdoctoral experience, or equivalent professional experience, after the Ph.D.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the study of radiation effects in semiconductors.
- Research interests that complement and integrate with the UNT Center for Microelectronics in Extreme Environments and the UNT Ion Beam Laboratory.

Work Schedule
Varies based on assignment. May include driving the university vehicle. Position is security‑sensitive.
