Assistant Professor – Nursing Department

About this Position

We are seeking a dedicated, student‑centered educator to join our Nursing Department as a Full‑Time Nursing Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses across multiple formats, including classroom, laboratory, simulation, online, and clinical settings. Responsibilities include curriculum development, student advising, professional development, and service to the department and university.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical environments across programs: Pre‑Licensure BSN, Asynchronous RN‑BSN, and Asynchronous MSN (Education and Leadership).
  • Develop and revise curriculum to align with ACEN accreditation standards and current nursing practice.
  • Advise and mentor nursing students regarding academic progress and career development.
  • Participate in student assessment, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, professional development, and service to the college and community.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees.
  • Maintain compliance with state board of nursing regulations and accreditation requirements.

Salary Range

$60,000 - $75,000

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unencumbered New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of five years of recent clinical nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
  • Strong communication, organizational, technology, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or related field (PhD, DNP, EdD) preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in higher education, specifically in Medical‑Surgical Nursing, Critical Care, and/or Maternity.
  • Experience with simulation instruction and online teaching platforms.
