Assistant Professor of Hand Surgery

The Department of Orthopaedics and the Center for Musculoskeletal Research at the University of Rochester are seeking a full-time faculty surgeon with a clinical focus in hand and upper extremity orthopaedics. This role involves joining a team of fellowship-trained orthopaedic adult reconstruction surgeons and advanced practice providers within the Division of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. Clinical activities will primarily be conducted at the state-of-the-art Saunders Center for Orthopaedics and Physical Performance and its satellite clinics.

• The Department of Orthopaedics has 65 clinical and 14 full-time research faculty.
• The department serves as the sole orthopaedic clinicians for UR Medicine, a seven-hospital clinically integrated network.
• The network serves a population of close to a million patients in Western New York.
• The Department is organized into 9 sub-specialty divisions.
• Clinical activities will take place in the recently constructed Saunders Center for Orthopaedics and Physical Performance and the satellite clinics.
• The Saunders Center is a new outpatient campus, approximately 325,000 sq. ft., including clinic space, ambulatory surgery, clinical research, and multiple advanced therapy spaces.

Compensation

• The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position.
• Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
• Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
• Compensation: $600,000 - $800,000

Qualifications

• ABOS board eligible or board certified
• Fellowship training in orthopaedic adult reconstruction surgery
• Eligible for a New York State unrestricted license
• A post-offer health assessment is required
• Open to visa sponsorship
