Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students within the prescribed Animal Sciences curriculum;
- Establish and maintain productive research programs, as well as supervise laboratory sessions and field work, and coordinate laboratory operations;
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts;
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations;
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course intent and course materials, and method of instruction with the Department Chair;
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues and determine teaching responsibilities each semester.
Qualifications
This position requires a PhD in Animal Health & Food Safety, Animal Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent), plus 4 years of experience in animal science research. Position also requires the following non‑quantified skills/experience: teaching in the field of animal sciences at the undergraduate level; livestock lactation science; research in lactation biology; management of livestock – to include housing, transportation, feed and reproduction; teaching lab lectures in animal sciences; supervising student research projects at the undergraduate level; mentoring and advising students regarding post‑graduation plans.
