Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission.
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
- Participating in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, rounds, house staff supervision in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services.
- Delivering continuing medical education and participating in local, regional, and national meetings.
- Supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the Department and Health System level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Completed an approved residency training program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Texas Medical license without restrictions.
Salary
Commensurate with experience.
