Overview
Title: Assistant Professor, Applied Mathematics. School of Computing and Data Science (SCDS).
Position effective Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach 3 courses (12 credit hours) each fall and spring semester and incorporate experiential or project-based content.
- Engage in active research within the field of expertise.
- Serve the Institute through mentoring extracurricular student organizations and committee work.
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related discipline.
- Working knowledge of mathematical concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to research and teach in varied application contexts.
- Substantial professional experience in a directly related field.
Preferred Requirements
- Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- 3 years of related work experience.
- Research, curricular development, and teaching experience in mathematical modeling (e.g., catastrophic modeling) or simulation (e.g., discrete time and/or discrete event).
Position Details
Salary range: $89042 - $ (two-semester salary; annual compensation could reach 1.5 times based on summer teaching). Retirement contribution: 10% (no matching required). No H-1B sponsorship.
