Job Description

The Department of Health Informatics Institute at University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Center is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine Endocrinologist for full‑time, faculty position. All candidates must have or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license. The salary for this position is negotiable. USF DDE is administratively housed within, and has the support of the USF Health Informatics Institute in the development of research proposals and publication of findings. Currently USF DEC is #18 in the USA based on US News ranking.

Responsibilities

  • This position is expected to be an outstanding clinician that will contribute to the expansion of Center clinical services and clinical research initiatives with pituitary disorders and other general endocrine disorders, and consultative services to assist regional primary care physicians in their patient care.
  • Provide care for out-PT and in-PT patients.
  • Participation in the USF DEC faculty in‑ and out‑patient call schedules.
  • Teaching for endocrine fellowship program and other students.
  • Professional development and other duties as assigned.
  • Thyroid biopsy skills are preferred.
  • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or statewide committees.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • BC/BE Internal Medicine Endocrinologist. All candidates must have or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.
