Description

The Gus Machado College of Business at St. Thomas University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month/academic year, faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Accounting.

Candidate Requirements

• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Advanced Managerial and Financial Accounting
• Audit or Taxation
• Legal, regulatory and compliance in Accounting
• Business ethics are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Accounting and/or Business Administration, or a related field with minimum 18 credits of postgraduate Accounting coursework or an active Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) license.
• Deep knowledge in specialized areas such as Advanced Financial Accounting, Auditing, Tax Strategy, or Forensic Accounting.
• Evidence of or potential for scholarly work in Accounting, Auditing or Taxation and related domains.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in college-level teaching, mentoring, and research consistent with appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
• Experience collaborating with industry on research.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team to achieve project goals.
• Commitment to working collaboratively with a network of faculty, institutions, and industry.
• Evidence of successful grant procurement related to the discipline of Accounting.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in Accounting and related domains; student advising and mentoring at these levels; development of programs.
