Assistant MillerRotating 12 hour shift from days to nights on a monthly basis. 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM AND 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.Week 1 (48 hours) – Mon – Off and then Tues/Wed – On and then Thur/Fri- Off and then on Sat/SunWeek 2 (36 hours) - Mon - On and then Tues/Wed- Off and then Thur/Fri – On and then Sat, Sun – OffYour role:As an Assistant Miller, you will be responsible for running the cleaning house side of the mill, supporting the shift miller, and ensuring all wheat and flour meets the required specifications while following all Food Safety Policies and GMPs, and completing sanitation and IPM tasks. You will utilize milling knowledge with the ability to set up machinery to maximize results.To succeed, you must be able to:Deliver results in first-time situations by inspiring others and working to earn trust every dayServe others with understanding, respect, and careOperate with simplicity, clarity and transparencyDeal with and drive changeOrganize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlineLearn and apply new technology, and share your knowledge with othersAbove all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.Your responsibilities:Will be responsible for specific phases of the milling and wheat cleaning operations as assigned by supervisor including sanitation dutiesDevelop mechanical ability to assist in all aspects of preventative checks and mill repairAccurately follow the schedule and specifications for wheat blending as well as providing feedbackLearn and proficiently perform testing and monitoring of product through the milling and cleaning processesMaintain sanitation standards, in accordance to policies, to provide a safe and food safe work environmentMaintain all tools/equipment and execute processes in the 5S, Pristine AMPS standards using process tools such as Centerline, 5S, understanding loss through 5why to create continuous improvement process by determining Root Cause and Corrective Actions.Maintain documentation of a variety of activities and inventories through computer or paper systemsCommunicate effectively with management, team members and customersEssential skills and experiences:High School diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of 1 years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new computer programsGood to have:2+ years' experience in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)Demonstrated mechanical understanding and intermediate troubleshooting abilityUnderstanding of safety behaviors within production environmentMill Production experiencePhysical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to work a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)Indoor/Outdoor environmentDusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens)Noisy environmentFrequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processesElevated PlacesAbility to perform work safely which may require:Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levelsFrequently climbing stairs and/or laddersOccasionally lifting, shoveling and/or carryingOccasionally pushing and/or pullingWorking in confined or elevated placesOther considerations:Must be able to read, interpret instruction and technology and communicate effectively in EnglishMust be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend or holiday work.Have willingness for training and development in Milling Practices and Programs (to include other department operations)Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the futureExcept where prohibited by law, all offers of employment are conditioned upon successfully passing a drug test and pre-employment background checkTeam members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.The preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this position.

Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate's unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $23.50 - $25.50, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience.

Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
