Assistant Housekeeper 1 | Full-Time

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as an Assistant Housekeeper 1 is vital to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This position involves performing daily cleaning duties with attention to detail and adherence to established standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean assigned patient rooms and ancillary areas daily, following specific procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of designated office spaces according to policy.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents for assigned tasks safely and effectively.
• Ensure housekeeping carts are locked and stored properly, keeping janitor closets neat and organized at all times.
• Complete daily cleaning logs accurately and submit them to supervisors promptly.
• Report any issues related to cleaning, maintenance, equipment, safety, or facility repairs to the appropriate department.

Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Basic literacy and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are essential. A willingness to learn additional tasks and responsibilities is important.
Experience
Previous housekeeping or floor care experience ranging from none to three months is acceptable. On-the-job training will be provided to support your success.
Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• Good communication skills and the ability to organize work efficiently.
• Physical capability to stoop, bend, reach, twist, lift up to 40 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
• Basic computer skills to complete required documentation.
• Endurance for long periods of standing and walking.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and operate housekeeping equipment.

Working Conditions
This role may involve exposure to unpleasant odors, body fluids, infectious diseases, and cleaning chemicals. Floors may be wet or slippery at times, and the work environment may include areas where medications are stored.
