Assistant General ManagerWe are seeking an experienced hospitality leader to serve as Assistant General Manager at our DC club. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the AGM partners closely with the GM to deliver an exceptional member experience while overseeing the operational backbone of the club.This is a broad, hands-on role suited to a well-rounded hospitality professional who is equally comfortable engaging with members on the floor, supporting the F&B team during service, working with vendors and facilities, and reviewing the month-end expense report. The AGM acts as the GM's right hand and as senior leadership on property in the GM's absence.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations and FacilitiesOversee day-to-day operational functions of the club, including opening and closing procedures, facilities, and physical plantRespond to operational and facility issues as they arise, including after-hours matters when requiredEnsure the club consistently meets standards for safety, cleanliness, and presentationFood and Beverage SupportProvide oversight and support to the F&B operation in coordination with F&B teamMaintain a visible presence during service periods and key eventsSupport menu planning, event execution, and service standards as neededVendor and Contract ManagementManage relationships with the club's vendors and service providersReview contracts, monitor service quality, and negotiate termsCoordinate procurement across departmentsAdministration and FinanceOversee operational administration including payroll coordination, accounts payable, and expense managementTrack departmental budgets and assist the GM with financial reportingMaintain operational policies, procedures, and documentationMember Relations and LeadershipEngage regularly with members to build relationships and gather feedbackPartner with department heads to ensure cohesive, high-quality service across the clubSupport recruitment, training, and development of staffServe as senior leadership on property in the GM's absenceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related fieldMinimum 5–7 years of progressive management experience in hospitality, with private club, hotel, or resort experience strongly preferredDemonstrated experience across multiple operational areas (F&B, facilities, vendor management, or administration)Working knowledge of club or hospitality financial operations, including payroll and expense managementProficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and hospitality or property management systemsStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsDesired AttributesA polished, professional presence appropriate to a private members environmentCalm and resourceful under pressureDetail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skillsCollaborative, with a genuine service orientationDiscreet and trustworthy with sensitive informationPhysical DemandsAbility to stand and walk the property for extended periodsCapable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbsAvailable for evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs requireThe successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the culinary identity of our club and ensuring memorable experiences for our discerning members.
