Assistant General Manager

We are partnering with a well-established, growing industrial organization to hire an Assistant General Manager for a large-scale operation in Phoenix.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, driving productivity, developing teams, and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and compliance.

We are particularly interested in candidates from large-scale manufacturing, construction, mining, aggregates, building materials, or other heavy industrial environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day site operations and overall operational performance.
• Coordinate workflow, staffing, equipment, and resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal requirements.
• Partner closely with maintenance, logistics, HR, EHS, and other operational teams.
• Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and profitability.
• Support scheduling, resource planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as a key link between frontline operations and senior leadership.

• Proven leadership experience within large-scale manufacturing, construction, mining, aggregates, building materials, or a comparable heavy industrial environment.
• Experience managing complex, high-volume operations and frontline teams.
• Strong understanding of safety, operational performance, productivity, and process improvement.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment where priorities can shift quickly.
