Assistant General ManagerThe Assistant General Manager (AGM) will serve as a leader of supply chain operations at the new Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Center (DC) in Cartersville, GA. This individual, in collaboration with other leaders, will be responsible for executing safe and effective operations that meet the needs of the organization and its employees. Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), this person will help lead an eventual workforce of 250 people distributing millions of cases of inventory annually to Chick-fil-A Operators throughout the Southeast Region. The AGM will help drive the operations of the distribution center and will enable supply chain innovation unique to the food service industry. Most importantly, this person will lead in a way that supports Chick-fil-A's vision and strategy while embodying the corporate purpose.This position requires a leader who can call upon a diverse range of skills and experiences to support overall operations.

The role is highly interdependent with the other divisions of the distribution center and Chick-fil-A Supply Services, requiring the AGM to foster relationships with a wide range of people to execute their responsibilities. The AGM will work closely with Chick-fil-A Supply's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and DC Leaders to continually improve the operation's performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective supply chain management methods and strategies. This calls for a dynamic leader who has a heart for service and compassion coupled with a mind for effectively supporting the management of the business. Furthermore, this role will be uniquely challenged with their participation in standing up future facilities through talent selection and evaluation, training and implementation support.Location: 726 Cassville White Rd NW, Cartersville, GA 30121ResponsibilitiesAssist GM in leading a large-scale food service distribution center operation with a safety mindsetAct as a liaison, balancing the needs of the Operator with the capabilities of the operationLead and engage a workforce of ~250 people with specific ownership of Inventory Control Department and practices as well as focus on various functions within the buildingDesign, implement, manage, and improve distribution center operationsDeliver high service levels to Operators and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Participate in the oversight of the P&L of the distribution center operationDrive innovation in all areas of the distribution center operationsSupport the Chick-fil-A vision and strategy by building a culture that aligns with the Chick-fil-A Supply values of care, safety and excellenceComplete other activities as deemed valuable by leadershipWork closely with CFA Supply Senior Leadership Team, CFA Inc. Supply Chain, Operators, and various business partners to ensure optimal alignment and collaborationDemonstrate the ability to value both relationships and results and to put others above themselvesRecruit, train, and develop a strong teamRequired Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)High School Diploma or equivalent7+ years of experience in distribution, manufacturing, or other relevant supply chain field management, including 3+ years in a leadership positionStrong aptitude to think critically, solve problems, and drive improvements in a professional and respectful mannerUnderstanding of production and inventory control theories and practicesFunctional knowledge of designing, managing, and executing distribution center operationsKnowledge of general accounting practices and P&LDemonstrated experience and success with process improvement and efficiency, including establishing and managing KPIsWorking knowledge of inbound logistics, warehousing, IT systems, and outbound logistics in the distribution industryKnowledge of and ability to ensure compliance with general safety standards, quality specifications, and governmental requirementsExceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skillsStrong ability to negotiate and resolve conflict by navigating confrontational situations to ensure all parties are treated with honor, dignity, and respectProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access; experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS solutionsProficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking): to safely follow verbal instructions, complete documentation and paperwork, and accurately interpret labels, pick lists, scanner prompts, signage, and company communicationsPreferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, supply chain management or another relevant fieldExperience managing in a food distribution or food manufacturing environmentExperience in a start-up environmentDemonstrated success in operations and people leadershipExperience with building and managing to budgets and general accounting practicesDemonstrated ability to perform effective short-term and long-range planningRequired Years of Experience: 7Travel Requirements: 10%Required Level of Education: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Level of Education: Bachelor's DegreeRelocation Assistance Provided: NoWork Environment: Warehouse
