Assistant Fund Controller
A leading alternative asset manager is seeking an Assistant Fund Controller to join its Boston-based finance team. This is an in-office role supporting a diverse platform spanning multi-strategy investments.
The Assistant Fund Controller will oversee fund control and operations across existing and new funds with significant exposure to senior investment, client relations, operations, and compliance teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee third-party administrators, banks, auditors, and other service providers
- Manage fund NAVs, financial statements, investor reporting, audits, and regulatory filings
- Coordinate valuation processes and support investment valuation reviews
- Partner with Investment and Client Relations teams on financial and investor deliverables
- Support treasury, budgeting, vendor payments, and investor redemptions
- Lead operational execution for new fund and product launches
- Identify and implement improvements to fund operations and the broader operating model
- Serve as a key point of contact across internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA highly preferred
- 8+ years of experience in private markets finance/operations, fund accounting, or a related function
- Experience with open-ended funds and/or alternative investment strategies
- Strong partnership accounting and technical accounting knowledge
- Experience overseeing third-party administrators and/or fund audits
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in this newly created position. The expected compensation range is between $130K-$160K, depending on experience.
