Assistant Electrical SuperintendentMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Electrical Superintendent with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem-solve and bring together viable solutions. This individual will provide coordination and supervision of electricians and crews on solar project sites.Must be willing to travel anywhere in the U.S., be on a project the entire time with regular rotations home every 3 weeks for 5 days.
This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.VISA Sponsorships are not offered for this position.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate work projects within the electrical scope of the solar sitePartner with the Electrical Superintendent in electrical material, equipment sizing, and site utilization planWork with Electrical Superintendent in development of project schedules and updates, and creation of 3 week look-aheadEnsure work teams have needed resources and supportSupervise and ensure quality control of work team, including self-performed and subcontracted workAttend and participate in project meetings, and act as the liaison between field engineers and contractors or craft workers to ensure construction complies with drawings and specificationsSupervise and provide leadership for electrical teamCoach, mentor, and train craftsEstablish and nurture teamwork environment, promoting inclusivity, and valuing diversityMonitor work progress and performance of crafts, forepersons, and subcontractorsImplement and monitor Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at project siteOther duties as assignedMaintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, etc.Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvementLead subcontractors and suppliers for the projectSupervise budget and make recommendations for subcontractors and trade partnersLead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partnersFacilitate and lead meetings between subcontractors related to project coordinationOther duties as assigned, including but not limited to:Perform on-site Project Manager duties on small scope projectsImplement a quality plan that ensures the customer's specified performance criteria in design and constructionQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experienceStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office, MS Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate levelProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesMinimum five years construction/supervision experience, working with medium and high voltage projectsExperience with self-perform projectsCurrent driver's licenseAbility to travel up to 100% to remote locations (keep home base wherever you choose)A few benefits offered include:Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount Program**The base pay range for this role is $102,900 - $154,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
