Assistant Electrical DesignerAspen Technical Staffing is seeking an Assistant Electrical Designer for a long-term contract opportunity for our client in Dallas, TX. This role supports multidisciplinary project teams focused on water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a diverse range of clients and technical requirements.Position OverviewAn Assistant Electrical Designer will support various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical design, report preparation, specifications development, and the creation of proposal and construction documentation. This role contributes to the development of electrical plans as part of a collaborative engineering and design team.The position involves working on electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities, including power distribution, lighting, protection and controls, and site electrical layouts.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of electrical designs, including schematics, grid and site layouts, power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and facility electrical designSupport setup of CAD standards, configurations, and procedures at project kickoff for the electrical design teamPrepare engineering drawings from sketches, redlines, and verbal/written design input using CAD softwareProduce drawing packages including layout development, design calculations, and problem analysis on moderately complex assignmentsAssist in refining rough sketches, markups, and ongoing design revisionsAnalyze reports, drawings, and test data to support electrical design developmentApply applicable design codes, standards, and project specificationsEnsure drawings and deliverables are completed within scope, budget, and schedule requirementsIncorporate project schedules, budgets, and design criteria into electrical layoutsMaintain organized project documentation, including drawing revisions, plot files, and design recordsCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and designers in a multi-discipline team environmentPerform other duties as assigned and comply with all company and project standardsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or related field with 2+ years of experience, orAssociate degree with 3+ years of experience, or4+ years of progressive detailing and design experienceStrong proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ExcelAbility to learn and apply new design software and toolsExperience with Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and other Autodesk applications preferredWorking knowledge of both 2D and 3D design applicationsBasic understanding of electrical design principles, calculations, and systemsAbility to interpret engineering concepts across multiple disciplinesStrong collaboration skills in a multi-discipline project environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detailMust be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship, restrictions, or time limitationsImportant NoticeNo Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements or third-party recruiting agencies will be considered for this position.
