The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records seeks an Assistant Division Director to lead the Research Library's reference services and collections. This role supervises 3-4 staff, provides subject matter expertise in Arizona law and legal research, manages grant-funded budgets, and coordinates outreach programming and instruction for researchers, state agencies, and the public. The position reports to the Research Library Administrator and is integral to the library's mission of preserving Arizona's history and providing access to collections including Arizona materials, legal resources, and digital archives.
Key qualifications
- MA in Library Science or related degree (selective preference)
- Strong legal reference skills and knowledge of Arizona law, Arizona Revised Statutes, and legal research resources
- Personnel management experience with ability to supervise and mentor professional and paraprofessional staff
- Proficiency with library automation software, cataloging systems, and commercial legal databases (Westlaw)
- Strong customer service, written and oral communication abilities
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
