Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation,the Assistant Director of Annual Giving will assist in carrying outdesignated duties and responsibilities for the Rice Athletics OwlClub annual giving program. This individual will be involved withthe planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of allOwl Club fundraising efforts in support of Rice’s 350student-athletes. Primary responsibilities involve buildingrelationships through one-on-one discussions with assignedprospects and donors, developing and executing annual givingstrategies, designing proposals, and closing Owl Club gifts with anemphasis on gifts of $500 or more. The assistant director will helpdevelop and design electronic, social media, and print messagingfor Owl Club solicitations as part of the overall annual appealstrategy and collaborate with the athletics development team ondeveloping fundraising strategies.
Workplace Requirements
On campus position: This position is exclusively on-site,necessitating all duties to be performed in-person. Per Rice policy 440 , workarrangements may be subject to change

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- One or more (1+) year of related experience

Essential Functions
- Manages a defined portfolio of Owl Club donors withresponsibility for renewal, upgrade, and retention within assignedgiving tiers, emphasizing leadership gifts of $500 or more
- Cultivates relationships and solicits annual gifts throughone-on-one visits, calls, and proposals with a focus on closingleadership-level commitments
- Educates prospects and donors on the Owl Club Annual Fund andbenefit structure
- Ensures donors receive benefits earned through their givinglevel, including tickets, parking, and hospitality access
- Makes outbound phone calls to Rice fans, staff, students, andother community members
- Prioritizes solicitation based on data analysis, preparesbackground information, and engages volunteers to advancesolicitation priorities
- Tracks and analyzes results of development activities todetermine outreach effectiveness
- Meets individual goals for donor touchpoints and fundraisingresults as established by management
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports on overall fundraising resultsto internal and external constituencies as needed
- Maintains accurate donor records and activity notes in the CRMsystem
- Supports and staffs Owl Club donor events including game-dayhospitality and stewardship functions
- Performs all other duties as assigned
