Assistant Corporate Controller (Multi-Billion Dollar Client)----DMV Area----$160K to $180K plus bonus----Hybrid
One of our best clients, multi-billion dollar in revenue, is looking to hire an Assistant Corporate Controller to partner with the Corporate Controller (this is a newly created position open due to growth). The Assistant Controller will lead part of a centralized accounting team that supports both corporate and business-unit operations. The role mixes hands-on accounting with team leadership and process improvement, in a growing company that already has a strong accounting foundation.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of Senior and Staff Accountants
- Manage period-end close and reporting for assigned areas, and own select accounts directly
- Analyze results, investigate variances, and make sure balances are well supported
- Strengthen policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Improve processes and reporting through standardization and automation
- Work with accounting leaders, finance leadership, and external auditors on audits, filings, and special projects
What You Bring:
- CPA License
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or a complex multi-entity company
- Big 4 or Large Public Accounting Experience Required
- Experience supervising accounting staff
- Strong US GAAP knowledge, close process expertise, and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
- Real estate, homebuilding, or construction industry experience
- SOX 404 knowledge and experience with multiple reporting frameworks
- Experience with system changes, automation, or supporting company growth
