Salary: $120,000–$140,000 + 10% Annual Bonus

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 100% Onsite

We are partnering with a growing organization in the construction and distribution industry that is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join its accounting leadership team. This is a newly created position due to continued growth and expansion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller who enjoys being involved in day-to-day accounting operations while also contributing to process improvements and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller with daily accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and financial reporting. (4 Direct Reports)
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial variance reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner with operational leaders to investigate discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy.
• Support ERP enhancements and accounting automation initiatives.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and development to accounting team members.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives as the organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on accounting leadership role.
• CPA and Microsoft Dynamics GP experience are a plus, but not required.
• Industry-specific experience is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000–$140,000 base salary, with flexibility for the right candidate.
