About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company in the Schaumburg area seeking an Assistant Controller to join its accounting team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional to take ownership of key accounting functions, improve processes, and contribute to a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.


• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.


• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.


• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close.


• Experience with inventory and cost accounting preferred.


• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.


• Strong analytical skills and a hands-on, team-oriented approach.


• CPA preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger management and financial reporting.


• Assist with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.


• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.


• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related financial analysis.


• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.


• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.


• Support audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
