An Exciting Accounting Leadership Opportunity – Assistant Controller

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Assistant Controller to join the Finance leadership team of a highly regarded organization within the aviation and infrastructure sector in New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience managing complex financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee financial reporting, general ledger integrity, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform detailed P&L analysis and financial variance reporting.
• Manage external audits and support regulatory and contractual compliance.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Oversee ERP systems, financial reporting improvements, and process automation.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting professionals.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional departments on financial initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong US GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience managing audits and financial close processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Business Central, or another major ERP.
• Aviation, infrastructure, construction, transportation, or real estate experience is a plus.
