Assistant Civil Engineering Project ManagerWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our Land Development team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This individual will be pairing their civil engineering technical skills with their project management experience to coordinate, plan, organize, and execute projects within their team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the management of projects from inception through completionProvide direction and manage work quality of a team of engineering designers, interns, and techniciansAssist in the preparing and managing proposals, contracts, invoicing, work in process and account receivablesRepresent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agenciesPrepare, maintain, coordinate project schedules of multiple concurrent projects with clients and design teamCommunicate directly with clients and public governing agenciesAssist project manager in Developing and tracking project milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget project deliveryRecruit, manage, develop, lead, inspire and coach design teamPrepare plan documents and supporting design calculationsProduce high-quality work and implement and maintain QA/QC proceduresAssist in business developmentResolve design conflicts and field construction issuesAble to understand proposals and contract scope of servicesAble to identify scope creep, write and capture additional services in a timely mannerAssist in Overseeing the technical and financial aspects of various projectsCoordinate with other disciplines and support servicesMake decisions independently in regards to various issues and methodsAble to accept and give performance feedbackRequired SkillsOrganized with the ability to self-prioritizeDemonstrates active listening techniquesOutgoing, friendly, approachable (team player)Previous leadership experience or someone ready for a step upStrong communication skills with team members and clientsProposal writing, project budget management and schedule preparation with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budgetWorking knowledge and ability to QA/QC construction drawingsCompetent technical skills required to complete engineering tasksCapable of proactively pursue design solutionsAbility to delegate assignments and determine methods and proceduresSelf-motivated with the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines without supervisionAbility to be open to others ideas and willing to compromiseDetail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptualAble to compromise and accept other's ideasCapable of envisioning the client's goalsGood reputation amongst peers, clients, and agenciesAble to follow general directions and guidelines for the firm's policies, practices, and proceduresRequired ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringProficient in computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Outlook, Microsoft Project)Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana (or capable of obtaining)Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project EngineerManagement experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design teamPreferred ExperienceWorking knowledge of AutoCADStrong presentation skills paired with the ability to coach and motivate othersAbout Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
