Let's build together a collection of memories!Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Chief Engineer in the daily supervision of the Engineering and Maintenance Department of the hotel, ensuring the efficient operation of all facilities.Assist in the coordination and supervision of engineering staff, providing technical guidance, task assignment, and monitoring team performance.Participate in the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs to protect the hotel's assets and minimize operational disruptions.Collaborate in the control of the department's operating expenses, supporting budget management and efficient use of resources and materials.Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations applicable in Puerto Rico, including safety codes, OSHA, permits, and hotel industry standards.Supervise work performed by external contractors, ensuring quality, adherence to deadlines, and compliance with hotel standards.Assist in the identification and resolution of technical problems affecting guest areas and staff, prioritizing customer satisfaction and operational continuity.Support the planning and execution of minor improvement or renovation projects of facilities.Maintain constant communication with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk, Security, and Operations) to coordinate work and minimize impacts on guests.Analyze technical failures and propose practical and timely solutions, including the management of spare parts, tools, and scheduling of shifts.Ensure that staff comply with hotel uniform standards, professional appearance, and confidentiality of hotel information.Comply and enforce hotel safety policies; report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions and participate in required training and certifications.Maintain positive working relationships, supporting the team to achieve common goals and addressing staff concerns in a professional and respectful manner.Stay updated on best practices and technologies applicable to hotel maintenance, sharing recommendations with the Chief Engineer when pertinent.QualificationsProven 4 to 6 years of experience in building engineering or maintenance, preferably in hotels or service properties, with experience supervising technical staff.Solid knowledge in construction and maintenance trades, including Electricity, Mechanics, HVAC, Plumbing, and General Building Maintenance.Experience supporting the administration of operational budgets, cost control, preventive maintenance, and coordination of minor projects.Practical knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to facilities, including OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, and NFPA, with the ability to support their compliance.Experience in the following areas: Air conditioning and refrigeration, Electricity and mechanical systems, Pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, Plumbing, Carpentry and finishes, Kitchen equipment and general building maintenance.Demonstrated ability to handle operational and emergency situations calmly and effectively.Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and perform physical work as needed.Fully bilingual (Spanish and English), with effective verbal and written communication skills.Benefits401(k) PlanEmployer Contribution to 401(k)Health InsuranceVision InsuranceDental InsuranceLife InsurancePaid HolidaysEmployee DiscountThe Condado Collection is an equal opportunity employer.
