Assistant Carpenter/Architectural Renovation TechnicianWe are seeking an Assistant Carpenter/Architectural Renovation Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting with various carpentry tasks, including drywall installation, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetwork, and countertop installations. A basic understanding of renovation trades, tools, and safety standards is required, along with general knowledge of other trades. The ideal candidate will work within our trade shops and be an integral part of assisting with maintaining and managing over 2,240 acres within our campus. This role will grow into assisting within multiple facets of our trades. If you're looking for a hands-on opportunity to develop your skills in carpentry and renovation while contributing to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply and grow with us!Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:Assist with drywall installation, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetwork, and countertop installationsWork on metal or wood stud wall systemsPerform trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, and set windowsRemove walls, install partitions, and alter rooms or add to existing structures using hand and power toolsUse machines, tools, instruments, equipment, and materials associated with masonry, roof maintenance, downspout and gutter repair, and waterproofing below-gradePerform accurate measurements and calibrations for carpentry workAssess safety conditions regularly, identify potential hazards, and communicate them to supervisorsImplement accident prevention and corrective measures in work-related areasCommunicate with customers to improve service delivery based on their feedback, relaying information to the Journey Level Carpenter or SupervisorPerform lifting duties up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodationsPerform tasks requiring standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and utilizing various tools. Safely climb and work from different types of ladders to access elevated or below-grade areas (such as roofs, above-ceiling spaces, and utility pits). Be exposed to and work in areas where insects or small animals are occasionally present.
