Assistant/Associate Professor of Primary Care - Signing Bonus

Job Type: Faculty – Full‑time faculty position in Kansas City, MO, within the Department of Primary Care at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Kansas City Campus (KCU‑COM KC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach, conduct research, scholarly activity, service, and patient care as assigned by the Chair of Primary Care Department.
• Design and deliver innovative osteopathic‑focused clinical education, including clinical diagnosis, treatment techniques, and application of osteopathic principles throughout the undergraduate COM curriculum and postgraduate education (GME and/or CME).
• Utilize best practices with a diverse mix of teaching clinical skills such as large group sessions, small group facilitation, clinical skills training (including OMM), simulation activities, and Objective Structured Clinical Encounters (OSCEs).
• Assess student performance using a wide array of assessment techniques with written and verbal feedback.
• Engage in scientific research or other scholarly activity toward publication(s), including mentoring and collaborating with students, undergraduate OMM fellows, and peers.
• Participate in college and university committees/tasks assigned, e.g., student advising, interviews, White Coat ceremonies, Commencement, and campus events.
• Provide patient care as assigned to maintain clinical skills.
• Provide educational opportunities for students.
• Contribute to the mission of improving the well‑being of the communities served.
• Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional actions, advancing the prestige of the University and College.

Required Qualifications

• DO degree from an accredited US College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Active and unrestricted licenses to practice medicine in Missouri and Kansas.
• Board certified/eligible in field of specialty.
• Ability to integrate osteopathic principles and practices into teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

• AOA Board Certification/Board Eligibility in a primary care field (family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology) strongly desired.
• Experience teaching preclinical and/or clinical education in an academic setting, including clinical skills to medical students using various learning and assessment methods.
• Strong background with educational technologies such as learning management systems, virtual teaching, polling tools, assessment software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to collaborate in diverse team settings.
