The Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences, Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics (DMGG) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, is seeking a full-time geneticist. This role focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients with metabolic and genetic disorders. The successful candidate will join a distinguished faculty and have opportunities for collaboration across multiple practice areas within medical genetics.

  • The DMGG is home to multiple accredited training programs, including an ABMGG-accredited Medical Genetics fellowship, combined Internal Medicine-Genetics and Pediatrics-Genetics residencies, a Master's Program in Genetic Counseling, and a Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage treatment for patients identified through the newborn screening program.
  • Provide inpatient consultations for the metabolic service.
  • Deliver both inpatient and outpatient clinical genetics care.
  • Supervise medical genetics trainees and genetic counselors during their clinical rotations.
  • Serve as faculty in the graduate-level medical genetics course.

Compensation

  • Compensation range from $235,000 to $255,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
  • The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

Requirements

  • ABMGG Board Certification/Eligibility in Clinical Genetics.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility for Pediatrics or Internal Medicine.
  • Eligibility for a New York State medical license.
  • Additional Board certification in Biochemical Genetics is preferred.
