The Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy at the University of California, Davis, School of
Medicine is actively recruiting one full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate rank in the
Ladder or combined Ladder/in-Residence Professor series who is committed to building and maintaining
an excellent, diverse, and inclusive faculty, staff and student body. While the Department continues to
expand in all areas of cell and molecular biology, we are seeking a candidate with research programs that
synergize with existing strengths in developmental biology, neurobiology, vision research, stem cell
biology, gene editing, and disease modeling.
Applicants with expertise in nanoscale and advanced image analysis, computational biology, genomics,
and/or systems biology are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate’s research program is
expected to complement additional campus strengths, including translational research, in the School of
Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Engineering, Centers for Neuroscience and Vision
Science , and Institute for Regenerative Cures .
The successful candidate is expected to build and maintain a high-quality extramurally funded research
program, achieve excellence in teaching medical and/or graduate students, provide service to the
University community appropriate to their career stage, and contribute to a collegial and collaborative
academic environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD and/or MD degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience
- Outstanding record of research creativity, independence and productivity
- Capacity to foster collegiality and work collaboratively
- Ability to communicate effectively as a teacher
