Position
Title: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track). Appointment: IU Indianapolis School of Science, tenure home in one of six departments (Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, Psychology).
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
Position Summary
The School of Science (SoS) and the newly established IU Convergent Biosciences and Technology Institute (CBATI) invite applications for tenure-track faculty in proteomics and allied fields. Candidates will lead innovative, interdisciplinary research, collaborate across the Institute, teach undergraduate/graduate courses, and engage in service to the University and community.
Key Research Focus
- Translational Omics and Biomarker Development : expertise in proteomics, lipidomics, glycomics, metabolomics, or next‑gen sequencing to identify clinically actionable biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
- Technology Development : creation of mass spectrometry, nanometre‑scale, or other omics technologies that advance clinical and precision medicine applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a nationally and internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program aligned with SoS and CBATI missions.
- Collaborate across the School and Institute to address critical bioscience challenges.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the home department.
- Mentor and advise students, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
- Participate in service activities within the Department, School, Institute, University, and broader Indiana community.
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. in life, health, or physical sciences (or closely related fields).
- Strong record of scholarship in the identified research areas and proven ability to secure external funding.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across scientific backgrounds.
- Evidence of effective teaching and dedication to respectful, inclusive learning environments.
