Description

Manages a portfolio of major gifts donors and prospects insupport of university-wide initiatives or for one or more assignedcolleges or units. Possesses a high level of knowledge andexpertise on major gifts and fundraising in general, and at least amid-level knowledge of planned giving.

• 1. Manages a portfolio of prospects which are mostly at the levelof $100,000 to more.
• 2. Identifies, cultivates and solicits prospects and stewardsdonors; works with faculty, staff and volunteers asappropriate.
• 3. Provides guidance to the college or unit on major gifts, otherdevelopments, and fundraising matters.
• 4. If assigned to a college or unit, may be responsible forcreating and implementing a development plan for components withinthe assigned college, including resource management.
• 5. May administer other advancement activities, such as alumnirelations, publications, special events, media relations, etc. foran assigned college or unit.
• 6. Participates in University-wide development activities asneeded.
• 7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ: Education; Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed.

Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directlyjob-related experience.
