Assembly TechnicianIn this role, you will assemble and test FlackTek's advanced centrifugal mixing systems with precision, ensuring every product meets the company's high standards for quality, safety, and performance. You will play a critical role in transforming engineering designs into reliable equipment that enables our customers' success. The Assembly Technician's attention to detail, commitment to safety, and dedication to craftsmanship directly impact FlackTek's reputation for delivering industry-leading products.This role reports to the: Production ManagerPrimary OutcomesSafety performance with zero preventable safety incidents and 100% compliance with company safety proceduresAchieve production schedule adherence by completing assigned assemblies on timeMaintain high first-pass quality by minimizing assembly defects and reworkEnsure accurate inventory usage and documentation throughout the assembly processActively participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, or safetyCore ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical and electromechanical equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructionsInterpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, bill of materials, and assembly instruction documentationComplete production tasks within target build times maintaining daily and weekly schedule adherenceInspect parts and verify materials meet quality standards before final assemblyOperate hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment safely and accuratelyDocument production activities, inspections, and quality recordsVerify completed assemblies meet specifications through inspection and measurementTroubleshoot assembly issues and communicate discrepancies promptlyPerform preventive maintenance on assembly equipment and workstationsMaintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment through daily standard practicesSupport inventory accuracy by reporting material shortages and discrepancies promptlyAssist with shipping, receiving, and production support activities as neededContribute ideas that improve manufacturing quality, efficiency, and safetyTrain and support team members on assembly processes when appropriateCollaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issuesSupport production priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environmentMinimum QualificationsEducation: Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceExperience: 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, equipment assembly, aerospace, automotive, or a related production environmentExperience assembling mechanical equipment and using standard manufacturing processesExperience working both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing settingTechnical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, bill of materials, and work instructionsExperience using mechanical inspection tools and precision measuring equipmentProficiency using hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment safelyBasic computer proficiency for production documentation and manufacturing systemsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work occasional overtime as neededAbility to travel up to 10%Preferred QualificationsPreferred Experience: Experience working in a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) or ERP systemExperience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environmentExperience supporting continuous improvement initiativesPreferred Skills: Working knowledge of inventory control and lot traceabilityLean Manufacturing experienceMechanical troubleshooting and root cause problem-solving skillsSuccess Competencies & FundamentalsMake Quality Personal: Demonstrate a passion for excellence and take pride in the quality of everything you touch and everything you do.
