Assembly TechnicianClayton Services is searching for an Assembly Technician to join a thriving company in the Northwest Houston area. The Assembly Technician will assemble, inspect, and test mechanical equipment while following established procedures, technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00/hour Benefits: Excellent benefits are available after the successful completion of the temporary period, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.Assembly Technician Responsibilities:Assemble equipment and mechanical components according to approved work procedures, technical drawings, specifications, checklists, and torque requirements.Safely torque and untorque threaded connections using approved tools and procedures.Inspect parts and components before and after assembly to verify proper condition, fit, alignment, and installation.Identify and report damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect components.Perform or assist with functional equipment testing.Travel to external partner facilities for equipment testing when required.Document assembly, inspection, testing results, and completed work orders.Report assembly issues, test failures, damaged parts, and other quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and assigned company equipment.Follow all company and external partner safety procedures and site-access requirements.Wear all required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, protective footwear, and task-specific PPE.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.Work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members.Assembly Technician Skills and Abilities:Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.Ability to safely operate common hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and basic measuring equipment.Ability to read and follow technical drawings, assembly instructions, work procedures, checklists, and specified torque values.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.Ability to recognize damaged, defective, missing, or incorrectly installed components.Basic computer skills for completing work orders and documenting assembly, inspection, and testing activities.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.Ability to follow established safety, quality, and operating procedures.Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to external testing locations as needed.Ability to safely perform repetitive mechanical tasks, including applying the force necessary to torque and untorque threaded connections.Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, equipment, parts, and materials as required, with or without reasonable accommodation.Assembly Technician Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous mechanical assembly, manufacturing, oilfield equipment, electronics assembly, or equipment testing experience preferred.Experience using torque tools, calipers, micrometers, or other inspection and measuring equipment preferred.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required when operating a company vehicle.Assembly Technician - Immediate need.
