Optical Manufacturing SpecialistThis is a precision manufacturing role requiring experience in optical polishing, lapping, grinding, or precision machining (or similar high-tolerance manufacturing). Candidates must be comfortable working to tight tolerances and handling delicate, high-value components. This is not a general assembly position.
Candidates should have experience working with precision components and tight tolerances.Key Responsibilities:Grinding and polishing of precision optical componentsCleaning and visual inspection (microscope use preferred)Operation of production equipment (surface grinders, polishers, milling machines, etc.)Handling and processing of fragile optical componentsFollowing detailed work instructions in an ISO 9001 environmentMaintaining equipment, workspace, and production suppliesRelevant Experience:Optical polishing, lapping, or grindingPrecision machining (tight tolerances)Experience with inspection tools (microscopes, comparators, optical inspection)Core Skills:Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordinationHigh attention to detailAbility to follow detailed technical instructions independentlyCritical thinking and problem-solving abilityComfortable working in a production/manufacturing environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience in precision optics manufacturingFamiliarity with interferometry, metrology, or optical test methodsExperience working in an ISO 9001 environment2-4 years experience in precision manufacturing or opticsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 25 lbsAdditional Requirements:Must be a "US Person" as defined by ITAR regulationsReferences required
