Assembler – Rail Equipment & Vehicle UpfittingInterstate Assembly Systems is seeking an experienced Assembler to support the assembly, installation, and integration of specialized rail equipment, hydraulic systems, and electrical upfitting packages on commercial vehicles and rail-related equipment. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with experience in heavy equipment, railcar systems, truck upfitting, or industrial assembly.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and install rail equipment, structural components, and mechanical systems.Install and route hydraulic hoses, valves, pumps, cylinders, and related components.Perform electrical upfitting including wiring harnesses, switches, sensors, lighting, alarms, and control systems.Read and interpret assembly drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.Mount and connect components to commercial trucks, railcars, and specialized equipment platforms.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems during final assembly and testing.Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.Qualifications2+ years of assembly, manufacturing, railcar, truck equipment, or heavy equipment experience.Mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and electrical installation experience.Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.Experience with rail equipment, railcars, maintenance-of-way equipment, or truck upfitting preferred.Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.What We OfferCompetitive payHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePTO and Paid Holidays401(k) with Company MatchCompany-Paid Life and Disability InsuranceCareer Growth OpportunitiesJoin Interstate Assembly Systems and help build and upfit specialized rail and transportation equipment for customers across North America.
