Assembler / Operator$16.07/hour1st5:00am-1:30pm, OT hours 5:00am-2:30pm & Saturdays 5:00am-10:00am (when needed)QPS Employment Group is hiring an Assembler / Operator for a company in Waukegan, IL. This is a potential to hire opportunity on 1st shift.Assembler / Operator Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:Assemble shade components by hand using hand tools and equipmentFabricate shades by installing sewn fabric panels, lift mechanisms, headrails, wrapping, stapling, shrouding, cords, rings, and other hardwareOperate production equipment such as automatic screwdrivers, riveters, and assembly machineryRead and interpret work orders, sewing patterns, measurements, and standard operating proceduresMeasure, cut, and verify fabric dimensions using rulers, tape measures, templates, and calipers; willingness to learn additional measurement tools as requiredInspect sewn and assembled products to ensure stitch quality, alignment, strength, and overall appearanceIdentify fabric defects, sewing inconsistencies, or component issues and report concerns to the lead or supervisorAccurately track and record production counts, scrap, rework, and defects for assigned jobsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with 5S and facility standardsFollow all safety, quality, and production policies and proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training as requiredAssembler / Operator Requirements:Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, sewing, textile, upholstery, or assembly preferredExperience operating industrial sewing machines in a production environment strongly preferredPrior experience with window coverings, Roman shades, soft shades, or drapery fabrication is a plusStrong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality productsSelf-motivated and dependable, with the ability to meet production goals and quality expectationsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a teamStrong commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanshipEffective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsBasic math skills and ability to use a calculatorComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentFlexibility to work overtime or extended hours as neededMay involve exposure to noise, machinery, and other industrial conditionsAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds (ask for assistance where necessary)Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shiftAbility to push, pull, reach, bend, stoopGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for sewing and assembly workAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, fabric materials, and varying temperaturesMust wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesQPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
