Assembler I JobThis is an entry level position under the direction of the Production Supervisor with frequent guidance from a Senior Production Associate of the felt value stream; responsible for the assembly of high-quality Architectural Systems (Standard, Adaptive, and/or Lighting). Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.Perform transactions in Shop-Trak; providing updates status on projects, material moves, and scrap for all assembly & packing operationsCollect parts and supplies for assembly and packing processes; conduct Inventory of tools, parts, and supplies and resupply as neededUses various hand tooling while performing assembly and packing operations efficiently IAW quality standards and established safety proceduresWorks with peers to Identify product defects and report necessary nonconformances to Senior Production Associate, Supervisor, and/or Quality InspectorWorks with peers to perform reworks/repairs IAW industry best practices and/or engineering instructionsWorks with peers to coordinate movement assembled parts and/or products to the next step operationPrepare, Assemble, Package, and Label completed projects for shippingUnload, receive, and store raw materials and suppliesCompletes work as required to meet production and schedule requirementsFollows safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as requiredMaintains equipment and work areas; cleans and performs basic repairs as neededOther duties may be assigned.Qualifications to perform this job successfully include the following:Basic arithmetic skillsKnowledge of personal computers skillsCommunication and people skills; team player willing to learnAbility to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of material)Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiativesMust be able to demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hirePhysical and Mental Demands:Regularly required to talk or hearRegularly stand and walk for extended periods of timeRegularly use hand-eye coordination, grasp, manipulate, and reach with hands and armsOccasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motionsFrequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds using mechanical equipmentSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusDue to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and coldWork Environment:Office Environment - This position may operate in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines in a limited capacity.
No PPE is required.Plant Environment - This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty/dirty conditions. Where applicable PPE is required.
