This role supports the fabrication department by ensuring parts are properly prepared, safe to handle, and ready for installation or sub-assembly while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Deburr ("DA") fabricated parts and materials by removing sharp edges and imperfectionsPrepare and drill rub rails and related componentsPrepare catwalks, steps, grab handles, and other fabricated assembliesPrepare ladder brackets, pike pole brackets, and attic ladder componentsPrepare hose bed floor dividersPrepare rear cab overlaysPrepare storage assembliesPrepare SCBA brackets and related mounting componentsRead and interpret truck specification documents and work instructionsOperate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment as requiredInspect parts for quality and accuracy prior to assembly or installationMeet established production and quality goalsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentFollow all company safety procedures and guidelinesAssist with process improvement initiatives when opportunities are identifiedWork in close proximity to customers, as neededAssist other team members and departments as necessaryPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications and Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly experience preferredAbility to safely use basic hand tools and power toolsAbility to accurately read and use a tape measureBasic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionBasic computer skillsAbility to read and understand truck specification documents and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to work independently with minimal supervision after training periodAbility to work effectively in a team environmentPositive attitude and willingness to embrace changeReliable attendance and punctuality in accordance with company guidelinesSelf-motivated with the ability to retain and apply instructionsAbility to work overtime on short notice as neededPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 75 poundsAbility to stand, bend, twist, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periodsAbility to safely operate tools and equipment required for the positionWork Schedule: 6am – 4:30pm Monday-Thursday. Hours vary based on business and department needs.
