Assembly Technician Opportunity in Gulfport, MSHire Up Staffing is seeking an Assembly Technician for a growing manufacturing team specializing in heavy-duty marine equipment. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, problem-solving, and working with mechanical and electrical components.Position OverviewThe Assembly Technician will be responsible for putting together equipment and subassemblies using a combination of manufactured, machined, and purchased parts. This role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions and drawings to ensure all equipment is assembled correctly, safely, and to specification before moving to final testing or shipment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical and electrical components into complete units and subassembliesFollow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accuracyInstall and integrate components such as motors, control panels, and drive systemsVerify all parts are properly fitted, secured, and functioning as intendedRead and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and basic schematicsConfirm all required materials are available before starting workIdentify and report any issues or missing componentsSafely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipmentPerform drilling, fastening, alignment, and light fabrication tasksAssist with fitting and positioning components during assemblyInspect completed assemblies for accuracy and qualityPerform basic functional checks when applicableEnsure all work meets company standards before moving forwardWork closely with production, inventory, and shipping teamsCommunicate progress and any issues impacting timelinesMaintain an organized and clean work areaQualificationsStrong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experienceAbility to read and follow technical drawings and instructionsExperience using hand and power toolsDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracyStrong time management and problem-solving skillsPreferred ExperiencePrior experience in manufacturing or equipment assemblyFamiliarity with industrial systems, motors, or control panelsBasic electrical knowledge is a plusForklift experience preferred (or willingness to be trained)Interested?
