Assembler (2nd Shift)Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Assembler at our Oakleys Ct site in Richmond, VA.The pay rate for this position is $19.47 + $2.00 shift differential per hour. Below are a few of the outstanding benefits we offer:Health benefits and vacation time - available to use on day one of your employment!10 Paid holidaysOvertime opportunitiesRetirement benefitsPaid Parental LeaveEducational Assistance Program, Wellness Reimbursement, and more!What You'll Do:Position Overview: The Assembler will timely and accurately build sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications involving complex and repetitive wiring and mechanics for Power Distribution Units (PDU), Remote Power Panels (RPP), Static Transfer Switches (STS), Transformers, Tap Off Boxes and Busway systems.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assembliesUse heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipmentBe responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assemblyUse various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair productInspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goalsAdhere to company, environmental, health, safety rules and regulationsProvide process and safety improvement ideasEnsure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5SQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in production, packaging or construction, or equivalent educationPrevious experience with standard operating proceduresPrevious experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance and/or repairBasic working knowledge and experience with computersAdditional Criteria:Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facilityAbility to read and interpret standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams and bills of materialAbility to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as neededAbility to lift, push and pull 50 lbsAbility to use a crane once fully trained to lift itemsAbility to stand for extended periods of time.
