Asphalt Roller Operator

Asphalt Roller OperatorC.R. Jackson is hiring an Asphalt Roller Operator to support our asphalt paving operations in Darlington, SC. In this role, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our teams expect.

You'll work alongside a supportive team that values safety, accountability, and doing the job right.What You'll Do:Operate asphalt rollers to compact and finish asphalt surfaces on roadways and job sitesEnsure proper compaction to meet project specifications for smoothness, density, and qualityWork closely with paving crews, including paver operators and laborers, to maintain workflowAssist crew members and supervisors to keep operations running efficientlyPerform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenanceMaintain equipment and keep work areas clean and organizedCommunicate respectfully and work together to keep operations running safely and efficientlyFollow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirementsPerform other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:Valid driver's license requiredHigh school diploma or GED preferredExperience operating asphalt rollers or willingness to learnAbility to understand and follow directionsStrong teamwork and communication skillsWillingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends if requiredCommitment to safety and proper use of PPEMust pass pre-employment background check and drug screeningPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand or walk for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry heavy materials when required (up to 50 pounds)Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipmentAbility to climb in and out of equipment safelyAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including heat, dust, and noiseMaintain awareness of surroundings and equipment for safetyBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidays and vacationSupportive team and opportunities for advancementAbout C.R.
